Gravity can take its toll on your body, causing muscular and joint pain from uncomfortable pressure; this can become exacerbated if your mattress is pressing on already tender pressure points caused during your everyday activities

The zero-gravity position places your body in a neutral position. Initially developed by NASA, it’s defined as being in a state or condition of weightlessness. Evenly distributing your stress points across the body which helps reduce pain and pressure. NASA puts astronauts in this position before take-off to equalise their weight and ease the stress on their bodies as they are launched into space.

So what does the zero-gravity position look like? You can get into this position by laying flat on your back in an adjustable bed with both your head and feet raised slightly above your heart. This places your body at (approximately) a 120-degree angle—the most relaxed position for your heart and nervous system.

Benefits of Sleeping in

There are plenty of benefits to the zero-gravity sleeping position. Depending on your specific sleep needs, some of these benefits may stand out to you more than the others.

Healthbenefits

Improve Heart Health

Zero Gravity is a great way to take pressure off the heart, allowing for better blood flow throughout the body, while poor, unaligned sleeping positions can actually put additional pressure on the heart

Lighten Back Pain

One of our customers' favorite benefits of the Zero Gravity position is that it takes pressure off of the lower back, allowing for optimal blood flow to the brain and aiding in pain relief

Alleviate Sleep Apnea & Snoring

The head elevation opens up your airways, helping to alleviate the severity of snoring. Depending on what muscles give you the most issues, you can raise or lower your bed to relieve pressure on arms, legs, or your back

Lessen acid reflux/GERD

Tilting the upper torso upward helps reduce—or even prevent—acid or food present in the stomach from returning back to the esophagus

Reduce swelling and edema

Those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or excess weight can rest more comfortably by raising the legs to reduce swelling in the lower body and promote proper blood circulation

Helping you get out of bed

Exit your bed more efficiently and safely with the one-button adjustability. This is a great feature for the elderly, injured, or those with weak abdominal muscles

Improve Breathing

Lying on a flat surface can make it more difficult to breathe, especially for those with sleep apnea or asthma. Raising the body helps open the airways, resulting in better breathing habits
